5 Boroughs - Greenslopes

Took a nice evening walk out to Stones Corner recently and decided to grab a burger for dinner. Have long been curious about the burgers at 5 Boroughs so it made for a good opportunity to try it out. With indoor and outdoor seating outside, we opted for outside seating as it wasn't sunny and we could get a nice breeze.

The menu was placed on a segment of the wall and we made our order at the counter.

First to arrive was the 5 Boroughs Double Cheese Burger. With a seeded bun, two patties, cheese, lettuce, onion and tomato, it was quite a substantial stack. The bun itself was quite cool where I would have preferred it toasted. The meat was thick and crumbly but not as meaty as I would have liked it but the cheese was quite melty and glued the fragments together very well.

We also ordered two sides. This was the karaage chicken which was freshly fried, extremely hot and extremely juicy. The batter itself was quite thin which I liked albeit it was quite salty and it went well with the aioli.

As always, waffle fries are the best fries, which is why we got a serve. These were also served hot and crispy. I liked the soft fluffy interior with the crunchy outside batter. For the price, the serving was very generous and next time I will definitely be having it with additional sauce.

Price Range: $15 - $25pp
