Quick weekend brunch at Little Clive in Annerley, which I have long had on my list to try. Situated very close to Mr L's place of residence, we ambled over on Saturday morning for brunch. Already quite famished, we ordered quickly and I forgot to snap a picture of the menu.
Our coffees were served very quickly though, with two steaming hot cappuccinos ready in no time. These were strong and bitter but the milk could have been a bit smoother. It definitely did its job in keeping me awake though.
Our food took a fairly long time to come out, which was why we were given complimentary hash browns on the side because who can say no to deep fried potato? Not me.
Mr L had the Eggs Benedict with bacon whereas I had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict with Potato Waffle. Both were generous in size with the egg yolks a little bit overdone but not to a point of being powdery. The hollondaise was rich and comforting. I expected the potato waffle to have a texture akin to hash brown, but turns out it had a bit more chewiness to it which was quite enjoyable.
The hash brown was fried to a perfect golden brown. Crispy outside with a wonderfully fluffy inside and lightly salted, it was a delicious companion to our meal.
