Sakuraya - Sunnybank

Tiring from going out way too much over the holidays, a friend and I decided to stop over at Sakuraya after dinner at the ever popular Coffee Square, to grab a drink before heading home. As usual the place was packed and there was a long line to order. I suspect the popularity stems from customers looking for an after dinner place to sit and hang out much akin to Sonder or Sweet Treats (with a better location but less variety of food).

Whilst the food is limited to waffles, they do have a very large variety of hot and cold drinks.

After waiting for a considerable period in line, we ordered and were given a buzzer and a sticker for our loyalty card.

Our drinks arrived after around 15 mins, which isn't too long, but longer than the usual at chatime.

My companion got their famous big bucket of coffee frappe, with ice cream. It unexpectedly came with coffee jelly by default. I tried a sip and really loved the creaminess of its icecream, but found it to have more of a sugary taste than coffee.

That evening, I had the iced matcha coffee with an extra scoop of matcha ice cream (nothing less than my readers would expect >w<). Whilst it did strike a good balance between the two elements it was somewhat light in taste overall and had way too much ice for the size of the drink. I also found the price to be a little steep for the quality of the drink.
