Passion Tree - Brisbane CBD

On the topic of cafes that I regularly frequent, but only just came to the realisation that I had not blogged about, Passion Tree came to mind when a fried suggested we go there to try out their new winter menu.

We were met at the counter by very cheerful display of the food offerings from the new menu and proceeded to order at the counter, and grab a comfy seat at the back.

We were given a buzzer which activated when our food was ready for collection.

Two of the three items we ordered were from thew new range menu, including the smores hot chocolate and matcha mochi pancake. I also ordered a citron tea to cleanse the palate in case the sweetness became to much.

The matcha mochi pancake consisted of three pancakes, of which one layer was filled with red beans, and the other layer was filled with mochi. The whole thing was then drenched with matcha syrup, topped with tapioca sprinkles and finished with a matcha ice cream and cone. I particularly loved the soft squishy mochi, which was very delicious when warmed by the pancakes.  I found the dessert to be quite large in portion best to be shared with friends,

My companion had the Smores Hot Chocolate, as part of their winter hot chocolate range. With a rich hot chocolate, topped with cream, marshmallows, oreos and garnished with melted chocolate, it was definitely an extremely sweet drink which needed quite a bit of water to clear the palate after drinking.

I had the citron tea, which I was impressed to find was not a tea bag, but in fact citron crushed with honey. It was slightly too sweet for my liking, but the honey and citrus flavours were still quite warming and refreshing as a winter drink.
