Stopped by Twotwo Chicken whilst in Sydney with the one and only Iron Fist. Finding ourselves in Korea Town there was no way that we wouldn’t get Korean food for lunch. Loving the authentic hole in the wall look of TwoTwo, we stepped in for some quick eats.
Aside from the basic menu at the counter, there was a small display of fried snacks to choose from. We ordered at the counter but as the store was so small, we didn’t need to get a number before sitting down.
We had disposable cutlery and were provided with a small bin for chicken bones as usual.
Iron fist got half a chicken, served with a side of cabbage salad. This was juicy and succulent on the inside whilst nice and crispy on the outside. The fresh salad balanced the dish and soothed his conscience about indulging in fried foods.
I got a street style udon which came with quite a few pieces of fried tofu skin. It was really light and homey with a clear soup base that really soothed the soul. The udon was nice and tender with a slight bite that assured me it wasn’t over done. The tofu skin was delicious too, with its porous texture absorbing much of the soup.
Other than udon I also opted for a small cup of fried chicken. I chose the boneless option in original flavour. It was very crispy with a juicy centre but the size was more akin to popcorn chicken than my companions larger dish. Nevertheless it gave me some much needed protein to my meal.
