Usually I don't go out much on Sundays, preferring to spend my time at home relaxing before the week after, however after receiving an invite to The High Tea Party hosted by Hilton for myself and some lucky readers, I grabbed some girls (and boys) and prepared for an epic afternoon out.
Kicking off the event, we all got a glass to fill up at the bar which we could also take home as a momento after the event. True to the theme of the event, we had free flowing rose from the bar.
Outside the grand ballroom where the event was mainly held, there were considerable number of boutiques outside selling a variety of beauty products and high tea related accessories. I may have gotten my nails done, but Adam unfortunately didn't get some eyelash extensions or eyebrow shaping, and many of our friends were super keen on getting some crockery to go.
The main event was definitely exciting, with motivational speeches and an inspiring fashion show to watch whilst we had our tea.
Crockery was on point, coffee was freshly brewed and of a good strength, tea erred on the weaker side.
The highlight for us was definitely the food, with one tower of goodies provided per two people with a selection of both sweet and savoury treats to satisfy everyone.
Top level comprised of sweets including tarts, profiteroles, macarons and slices. These were fairly sweet and very satisfying for Adam. My favourite was the strawberries and cream profiterole, fruity and creamy, it was delicious.
Second level consisted of warm scones and quiches. The quiches were fairly dense and egg-y whilst the scones were also dense and wholesome. Coupled with jam and cream, we really enjoyed them.
Bottom tier were sandwiches, decadently crust free but still wonderfully moist. A highlight for us were the egg and alfalfa sandwich, not a combination you can get regularly.
We had a really great time at The High Tea Party and are always pleased to support a worthy cause. Definitely looking forward to next year's event.
Espresso and Matcha were invited guests of The High Tea Party and The Peppermint Group, as always, my opinions are solely my own.
