Knowing that I had caught the flu and wasn't feeling too well, my confidante did what all responsible friends would do. He took me to a burger joint first thing when I woke up. Which is why we headed to 8 bit burger for lunch.
Per the theme of the restaurant, there was a retro style arcade game, and the menu was in proper 8 bit form, offering a number of burgers, hot dogs and sides.
Having ordered at the counter, we were given a number. There were quite a few seats in the restaurant, but we found one that faced the street.
Before long, our food came.
I ordered the double dragon, which contained double beef, double cheese, double bacon, pickles, lettuce and ketchup. The bun was toasted to quite a delicious crisp, but maintained a bit of fluffiness on the inside. Despite the fact that the patties were a bit thinner than expected, that didn't detract from the quality of the burger. The cheese though, was melted and glued the whole thing together, which I greatly enjoyed.
We also had a portion of cheese bacon fries to share. Whilst not apparent in this photo, they were kind of diamond shaped, which in my opinion offers best of both worlds, ensuring a certain level of fluffiness on the inside, whilst having a decent amount of surface area to be deep fried. The bacon was very ample, but I would have liked a bit more cheese not just on the surface of the plate.
