Mimo Tea - Brisbane CBD

Have noted the recent abundance of new independent bubble tea stores. The newest one along Adelaide Street is Mimo Tea, situated opposite Officeworks. Wanting to check it out whilst it was still in doing the buy one get one free promotion, Adam and I went after work a couple weeks ago.

The menu was more in line with contemporary bubble tea places like Heeretea, Initial Tea and Majestea rather than the originals at Chatime or Gongcha. With a focus on cheese foam, fruit tea and milk tea, my usual basic green tea was nowhere to be found, and it proved difficult to make my choice.

Ordering at the counter, we got a number and waited for it to be called.

Wanting sweet things as usual, Adam ordered the roasted brulee milk tea. Interestingly and a little alarmingly, the rim of the cup was melted by the hand held flamethrower that was used to toast the top of the brulee. As for the drink itself, he found it to be fairly standard and not overly sweet.

Without green tea and without a basic milk tea option, I had the standard brulee milk tea. It came in an unburnt cup. The brulee was quite firm with a pudding like texture and the tea was lightly fragrant with a floral scent but could have been creamier.
