Found ourselves ambling around Bulimba between meals (yet again) last weekend, and he mentioned one of his favourite coffee spots in the area. I hadn't tried it before but thought it would be a nice opportunity to try it out, so we stopped by at Bellissimo for a snack and refreshment before dinner.
As you would expect, food was via counter service. There were a few pastries on offer, but it would appear no full sized meals.
Always a mark of a great cafe, sparkling water was available on tap. I wish every place had this facility, I'd carry a water bottle with me everywhere and fill up if they did.
Starting off we had their Coffee Jelly with condensed milk. Being firmer than standard jelly, it packed a caffeinated punch which was quite delicious when mellowed down with strong, sweet condensed milk. It made for a deliciously light afternoon treat.
By his recommendation, we each had a Japanese Filtered coffee. It was crisp and refreshing, with a smooth finish. Compared to other cold brews or cold drips though, this was by far a weaker but more delicate option, good for afternoons but probably not strong enough for early mornings.
