Motorwagen - Brisbane CBD

End of year is always a good time for catch ups. Last week we had one such at Motorwagen in the City, a convenience for all of us after a long day's work. I had previously been here on two occasions and thoroughly enjoyed the food but forgotten to take photos. Third time's the charm I guess.

The menu comprised of quite a few options arranged by course. The cuisine was modern Australian and there were quite a few options that I was keen to try. We started off with a refreshing glass of rose.

Dr L opted for the food of his home, fish and chips. Stealing some myself it was surprisingly very crisp and the batter was delightful. Chips were wholesome and thick cut with the skin on the ends, the inside wasn't too fluffy though. Would go back for this, but the portion was a little small for a main.

Opting for a comfort food option, I had the Southern Fried Chicken and Chips. This was came with a side of coleslaw. The chicken was surprisingly moist and crisp but appeared a little over-burnt. The chips were like the fish and chips with a fairly dense but crisp skin. The coleslaw was chilled, crisp and quite creamy.

Wanting a more balanced meal, we also ordered a bowl of salad to share. It was fresh and crisp with a light vinegarette, balancing out our deep fried meals.
