The Noodle Club - Runcorn

End of the week catch up with some friends. Wanting something casual and filling we opted The Noodle Club, a fairly popular Chinese restaurant along the already highly competitive Runcorn Plaza.

It was fairly busy that night. So busy in fact that I forgot to take a picture of the menu. Suffice to say it contained quite a few varieties of hand made noodles, in both soup and stir fried options along with rice dishes and sides. Ordering at the counter, they only take cash and we got a number before our food was delivered.

Adam went for the signature YouPo noodles with beef. Translated literally as oil splashed noodles, we had no idea what to expect. It was in fact really thick and super long hand made noodles which came in a light clear broth topped with oil, sesame, pepper and chilli with beef and greens. The noodles had a wonderful texture with a bite to the finish. The beef was quite salty and tender and the portions were quite good.

Not wanting a heavy meal that night, I opted for the lighter option of shaved noodles with tomato and egg sauce. This was delicious. My noodles were again flat but nowhere near as thick as the youpo noodles. Tomato and egg made a really great combination with the clear soup. The eggs were fluffy but had a nice texture to it whilst the tomato added just the right amount of sweetness to it.
