Nagomi Bento - Brisbane CBD

With my newfound enthusiasm for weight loss, I decided to take up running a couple times a week. (Clearly I couldnt possibly cut down eating around and blogging about it, dearly beloved reader). One place I did run past whilst returning to work is Nagomi Bento, at Eagle Street Pier, which according to Eagle Street Pier, is by the same people who created Sono. Needless to say, this means I have high expectations of this place _(:3 」∠ )_.

As mentioned, Nagomi is at Eagle Street Pier, near Grilld and Guzman Y Gomez. It is outdoor seating only, but the majority of customers (myself included) seemed to order takeaway.

I ordered a chicken kaarage, and two salmon avocado rolls.

The salmon was very fresh, the fish/avocado/rice ratio was good, and the avocado was nice and ripe. The rice also had a good texture to it. It would have been perfect if the rice had a bit more vinegar.

I was particularly impressed by the chicken kaarage. For $6.90, I did not expect to be full (hence my decision to get two sushi rolls on the side), but I was definitely proven wrong. There was more than enough for one meal packed into that bowl. The sauce was tangy, the chicken was crispy but not oily, and they used a high quality short grain rice. The only improvement would have been to put a bit more sauce to be enough for the whole bowl.

With my work office relocating to Eagle Street later this year, Nagomi bento is definitely a place I will be frequenting.
